    Touch Issue Resolution See Blug

So they open up the tablet… and applied Kapton tape randomly inside the tablet ???

And they don’t mention what specifically needs to be “insulated”.

At least they confirm its a HARDWARE fault.

The problem is exactly the same as Sony Xperia xz2 touch issue years ago. Users needed to turn off and on the screen to temporary fix the problem. The fix back then was the same. They covered the back of the LCD with tape, stickers, etc, so it does not directly touch with the flex cable. I did the fix with iplay 50 mini. All good now. You guys could do it too carefully. Buy cheap tools for phones (suction tools etc) and then open it yourself. The display does not even have any adhesive too. Just the old school “click” mechanism to the body.

This sounds super promising… and not too hard either !!!
          I’ll give it a try …. THANK YOU !!!!!!

I just tried the kapton tape ‘fix’, but it did NOT help at all 🙁

I don’t understand how insulating the LCD ribbon cable from the LCD panel could possibly help, as the cable itself is already electrically insulated anyway.

Ever since i did it, i haven’t have any touch issues at all, like literally none. I don’t know how you did it, but i just covered all the metal part behind the display. That’s it.

I did exactly that… Cover the exposed metal behind the LCD panel with kapton tape, such that the ribbon cable can’t touch it.

When that didn’t help, I added another layer of tape, but that didn’t help either.

So then I tried adding tape to the battery as well, but again made no improvement either.

I’m having the same problem with the touch system. My solution was to install iPlay50mini(T811)_EN_20230516.T Then update via OTA to iPlay50mini(T811)_EN_20230612.T I have no or very few touch issues. I don’t know if this issue will be fixed for other devices or not. But for me there is no touch system problem or very little.

      Interesting!

      How did you discover this?

I tried installing every latest version. But there are still problems with the touch system. Until I want whichever version has the fewest problems. Until I ended up with this version. and I am very satisfied To this day I haven’t had any problems with the touch system. But I’m not sure if it will work well on other machines.

    I just tried USB-flashing the latest December firmware ( iPlay50mini(T811)_EN_20231201.T ).

And still had the touchscreen issue, had it during the first boot/setup too ! 🙁

So looks like the touchscreen issue is definitely a HARDWARE fault.

    Banggood’s return policy says…

    “180 Days Quality Protection

If your item has any quality problem, you can get a refund or exchange up to 180 days.

So Im currently fighting to get a refund from Banggood.

The Alldocube Ipad Mini 811 was evidently a first batch, riddled with flaws, and sold cheaply through Banggood and other online retailers. I purchased it this spring, and the system was immediately unstable. I flashed all the firmware, but it remained terrible. It boots with difficulty, displaying the message ‘Your system is corrupt…’ and is practically unusable. It’s a shame for Alldocube; they should have recalled this first batch!

Oh wow, sounds like you got one of the Worst examples 🙁

I ordered mine pretty much when it was announced, so I assume its an early batch.

But mine was quite Good for the first few months, had no issues at all (apart from a few very minor GUI annoyance, which is expected from these cheap device).

Then started getting the intermittent dead touchscreen issue that everyone else here is having.

Is it possible to update the mini to the mini nfe? I mean, does the firmware of the mini nfe (netflix edition) run on the normal mini? Because i wish i have functional Widewine L1…

    1. JT reply to Oliver

You should TRY it… and then let us know 🙂
I dont really see any harm in it though.
If it doesnt work, then just power it Off and USB-flash it again with the old firmware.

    2. JT reply to Oliver

I just compared the specs between this model and the NFE model, and it seems the only difference is that the NFE has 128gb of storage (instead of 64gb).

If the NFE firmware even works, I guess theres a good chance you might lose half of your storage.

Alldocube sucks dont buy substandard product.. touch issues will never be resolved tried flashing different frimware non work and the customer support is non existent.

I just USB-flashed the oldest firmware ( iPlay50mini(T811)_EN_20230516.T ) and STILL have the touchscreen issue.

So I’m pretty confident that the touchscreen issue appears to be a HARDWARE fault, and not a software/firmware fault. I believe this is the reason as to why AllDoCube has Not fixed the issue, as its impossible to fix a Hardware fault with firmware.

All I can suggest is contacting the seller (ie AliExpress / Banggood), and demand for a return / refund.
